Southern Sweet Tea and Angel Biscuit Breakfast

My Grandma Edna was known all over Woodstock and Canton, Georgia for her biscuits.  We've tried to replicate them as a family and sometimes we can even all get together for breakfast and have them.  It just so happens we made it possible with my lastest visit to Georgia.  We all ate our weight in biscuits and then the kids played outside in the yard among Grandma's roses.

As kids, me, my siblings and cousins would jump all over the furniture until my Grandmother would coax us outside to finish off the excess sugar rush from her homemade sweet tea and jellies/preserves.  We would run around barefoot all over the yard and climb trees just like the stories you read of little middle class southern girls.  It made me cry a little remembering those times with her, as you all know by now, I miss her so much...

Cheers!

P.S. The last one is my favorite.  And if you know where I can find a set of glasses like that, please let me know.  She has had those forever and now they belong to my dad.

Little Boy Cousins...

When it comes to our sons, my sisters and I dont get to share alot of special moments between them because we live so far away from eachother.  We all have boys that were born in the same year and want our boys to be close (just like us).  So...when we get moments like this one...

we get teary-eyed with complete and utter joy.  At least I know I do.  I love my little rascal nephews (and my princess nieces) with all of my heart.  My heart beats with so much love when I see them.  I pulled into my sister's driveway last night to my nephew running out through the garage screaming "Aunt Mowie, Aunt Mowie!"  It just makes me long for home so much!!

Asa wanted to help feed W.A. dinner.  He calmly coaxed him to put on his pajamas and sit down in the bath as well as share all of his toys and his night-night blanket.  He had to sit next to him at every meal.  That boy will make a great big brother if my sister and her husband ever decide to go there.

Ive taken tons of pictures of all the little rascals, so stay tuned to see what posts those pictures inspire in me.  Believe me, its alot.

Cheers!
