Pediatric Cancer

Every day 46 children will be diagnosed with Pediatric Cancer.  Some of them will fight with all of their strength and win, and still, some will not.

Declan Carmical lost his battle with AT/RT a year ago this month just shy of his first birthday.  Declan left behind two grieving parents and 3 brothers (one of them being his twin brother, Cole).  If you havent read Declan's story, I strongly suggest you check it out here.  With immense grief in her heart, Declan's mother started Journey 4 A Cure, a charity dedicated to raising money to find a cure for pediatric cancer in hopes that she could save other children and keep Declan's fate from being some other parent's nightmare.

I'm prepared to help her.

Pediatric cancer is the number one killer of our children and it can be stopped.

Let me tell you "why" first. 

I have a 22 month old son.  He is my world and I waited a long long long time to be a mommy.  He is my most precious moment every moment of my life.  He can be considered the: air I breath, the food that sustains me, my life, and the ultimate love that keeps me going....when I read Sherri and Stan's story, I could not help but put myself in their shoes and W.A. in Declan's shoes.  I would be devastated.  Every child deserves the chance to live, but with my faith in God I know he has a greater plan (look at Declan's friends on Facebook alone for proof!) and I know I just cannot question that.  So....

Declan's Mommy asked the question: "Can you just think about how perception and awareness for Pediatric Cancer would be changed if next September the NFL premiered Wear Gold for Pediatric Cancer?"

WHAT IF?  No.  I mean REALLY, WHAT IF?????????

Ladies!  We are mommies and wives and homemakers!  We are the advertiser's COMPLETE AND MAIN TARGET!!! WE SPEND THE HOUSEHOLD MONEY!  Get out your pens!  Get out your fingers!  Pick up your phones!  Write/Type/Call them!  Let's DO IT!  Like NIKE says: LETS DO IT!!!!!

SPECIAL ADVENTURE: Declan Carmical's 1st Birthday

Declan Black Carmical turns 1 today (August 26th) and in honor of his birthday, W.A. and tons of other people all over the country sent balloons to Heaven at 6PM EST.  This small act was set in place by his family to honor his special day and spread awareness about Pediatric Cancer.  Happy Birthday Declan (and Cole)!

As mothers to boys, we will all find this story heartbreaking, however, Declan left us mothers with an important message.  It was Declan's legacy that will move all of us mothers to appreciate every moment we have to share with our precious boys (and girls)!  This little angel touched so many lives.  Although, I did not personally know Declan or meet his family, I feel moved by their story and must share it.  You can find out all about Declan and his legacy, (and pediatric cancer) at http://www.declansjourney.com/  I would have been honored for W.A. to have met this courageous little boy!
